Our Story

Ethical and Enthusiast Skin Care and Soap Maker

Our founder has completed these following education and certification:

  • Certified Clinical Aromatherapist® issued from NAHA (The National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy).
  • RA® - Registered Aromatherapist / EOT® - Essential Oil Therapist issued from BCAOA (British Columbia Alliance of Aromatherapy).
  • Diploma in Advanced Aromatherapy Techniques.
  • Diploma in “Clinical Aromatherapist” by successfully completed the course of study 625 hours (Aromatherapy 101 – 180 hours and Aromatherapy 201 – 445 hours) and written examination as required accredited by NAHA and BCAOA.
  • Diploma in “Aromatherapist” by successfully completed 550 hours of training in Aromatherapy Diploma Program accredited by NAHA.
  • Reiki Master/Teacher Practitioner Usui.
  • Reiki Master Usui Holy Fire III.
  • BFRP® (Bach Foundation Registered Practitioner) issued by the Bach Centre.

Our love of skincare comes from a personal place. Our co-founder struggled with itchy, rash, dry skin growing up, and by high school. He took classes in skin care formulation and aromatherapy and it really gravitated towards the skincare lessons. Through a mix of know-how and dedication, he finally learned to manage his problematic skin and achieve the radiant glow he thought was just a pipe dream.

The whole time, he continued pursuing skincare as a hobby, giving friends and family facials and beauty tips, and sharing products he discovered with friends in the States. Helping people improve their skin felt incredibly rewarding. His goal is to empower you to transform your skin by gathering the best information, advice and innovations that our products have to offer, and putting it right at your fingertips (and on your doorstep). But he never forget that it’s not just about delivering great products—it’s about delivering a whole new level of confidence in your skin.

The skin care industry has changed so much but the one thing that we never changed is our ingredient standards. Our focus is to stay as natural and organic as possible in both our products and the ingredients we offer you. We only use organic oils, pure and natural essential oils and eco-friendly ingredients in our products.

You won’t find anything on this site that we would not personally use.

  • No artificial fragrance oils
  • No artificial colors
  • No palm oils
  • No surfactants

We make our products out of our shop in Vancouver, BC, Canada and Birch Bay, Washington, USA. We were very interested in aromatherapy and we have our certificate in aromatherapy from NAHA – USA and BCAOA – BC, Canada. Soap making to us was a vehicle for our blends.

Our love of soap making and skincare grew after we completed our aromatherapy certification. We were able to make this hobby a full-time business.

The tree that Palm oil is extracted from creates a uniculture. This means that nothing else can grow because the tree uses up all the nutrients in the soil. In the areas that these palm trees are grown, it is cheaper for the manufacturer to buy new land than to replenish the soil with more nutrients. By using up more land, this endangers the habitat for orangutans and other vulnerable species living in the rain forests. There are many better alternatives to palm oil and we choose to use organic coconut oil. This creates a beautiful palm oil free soap that we can be proud of. We have watched so many people fall in love with our products. Skincare and soap making is our life. We share a dream to deliver high-quality natural, organic skin care, and their vision has led True Aroma Living to where it is today.

We believe in providing the best skin care products possible. Our products are proudly free of parabens, animal by-products, propylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfates, harmful colorants and fragrances, mineral oils, petroleum, and other harsh cosmetic chemicals.

Our products are handmade without any severe heating or hydrogenating processes that can affect the nutritional content and potency of natural ingredients. Vitamins are captured in their all-natural fresh base, offering dramatic results as actual seeds, pulps and peels impart regenerative and healing powers that only nature can produce. 

We are constantly looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint. We are proud to use wind energy and solar power energy in the making of our products.

Reiki

Reiki pronounced Ray-Key means Universal Life Force Energy.  Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing technique used on an emotional, physical and spiritual level.

A trained Reiki Master Teacher has been attuned to this energy by a Usui Holy Fire III Reiki Master Teacher and works as a vessel to cleans and promote healing. Every object on earth, both living and inanimate, contains Life Force Energy.  Reiki is not attached to any belief system, religion or faith and has been scientifically proven to be valid.

Reiki is a large part of our life. We have been practicing since the early 2018's. Every product that we create has been infused with Reiki energy. Every class we teach, the room is always cleansed with Reiki energy before starting. A lot of people have said that coming to classes and working in the studio during Studio Time is like a sanctuary for them. We think that has a lot to do with the Reiki energy in the room.
