DESCRIPTION:
It is thought that Lemon is a plant native to India. Over time it has been cultivated in various Mediterranean countries and in modern times has become a commercial crop for the state of California. The essential oil is produced from the rind of the lemon that is pressed to create a pale greeny yellow oil and according to one source, it takes 3000 of them to produce a kilo of essential oil.

Lemon essential oil has a variety of uses and wide range of therapeutic properties including varicose veins, cellulite, and water retention. It is used in applications that require an antiseptic and antibacterial and can be diffused into the air to help kill some types of airborne germs. It also stimulates the body’s defense system and like other citrus oils can stimulate the lymphatic system. Lemon essential oil can also help to stop bleeding, and as such has been used to treat nosebleeds.

Lemon essential oil should be avoided during pregnancy and is phototoxic, meaning that it makes the skin sensitive to ultra violet rays. It can also be irritating to the skin so should be mixed with a carrier oil when used topically.

Lemon is uplifting and fruity. It is toning and clarifying for the skin and environment and ideal for diffusion. 

When you are using Lemon essential oil you know you are in familiar hands. This oil is one of the most easily recognized oils and for good reason. Lemon has a fresh, zesty citrus scent that is refreshing, energizing, and uplifting; this scent is invigorating to the senses and wonderful to smell. Hailing from Italy, Lemon Essential Oil has been used for centuries.

Unlike other oils that are steam distilled, Lemon Essential Oil is extracted through the fruit peel using a cold pressed extraction method and is 100% pure with no fillers or additives. This strong, but refreshing scented aroma is known to support a healthy immune system, uplift and revitalize, and add a wonderful lemon scent to spray cleaners.

It blends well with bergamot, carrot seed, cedarwood atlas, citronella, coriander seed, geranium egyptian, juniper berry, lavender, lemongrass, lime, may chang, neroli, palmarosa, peppermint, petitgrain, rosemary, sandalwood australian, and vetiver.

DIRECTIONS:
Diffuse equal amounts of Lemon and Peppermint in the morning or whenever you need an extra boost. To use for cleaning, add a few drops to your favorite cleaner to help refresh and sanitize. It is especially good added to some baking soda to make your bathroom or kitchen appliances sparkle!

Aromatic - Diffuse using 3-4 drops per 100 ml of water or use in a personal inhaler.

Topical - Dilute 1-2% in a carrier.

Add 4-12 drops to a bowl of steaming water/facial steamer and inhale deeply for 5-10 minutes.

Start with lowest number of drops; increase as desired.

CAUTIONS:
Keep out of reach of children. For external use only. If swallowed, seek urgent care/call poison control. Do not use undiluted. Avoid eyes and mucous membranes; if contact occurs, rinse with vegetable oil. Do not use if pregnant/breastfeeding. If allergic reaction occurs, stop use and call a health care practitioner. Phototoxic; if accidental skin contact occurs, do not sun tan/use tanning beds for 3-4 days. For prolonged use, consult a health care practitioner.

SPECIFIC CAUTIONS:
Phototoxic. Can cause photosensitivity. To avoid, use a maximum dilution of 2% for topical application. Avoid during pregnancy. Use in moderation on the skin as can be irritant.
